Karachi Commonwealth Games
This brief was set by Tangent and was to come up with a logo for the Commonwealth Federation, a logo for a city that was chosen for you and a social media campaign. I was given Karachi, Pakistan and based by city logo on the fact that Karachi has the largest port in Pakistan, so the logo represents waves getting calmer as they come into the port. It also has 6 lines to represent the 6 districts within Karachi. There are multiple colours to show how diverse Karachi is and the lines extend out as to represent light trails as Karachi was known as the city of lights. The CGF logo was based on the 3 core elements that the CGF stands for; Humanity, Destiny and Equality. As well as that it is based on the idea of athletes "raising the bar" and thats what the circles are doing. For a social media campaign i came up with the idea of having light sculptures of the pictograms placed around the city in various places such as outside sporting venues and popular areas. Then using the hashtag #KarachiGames, encourage people to take photos with the sculptures and put them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. As well as that using Facebook Live, Instagram Live and Snapchat to create a buzz about everything.
